Who is behind
Fineline Frames & ARTSTAR

Wayne Dodds, AKA Wayne The Frame is the owner of Fineline Frames alongside his wife, Edith.

Wayne first took an interest in picture framing after expanding his hobby of photography by framing his own work.

This interest rapidly grew until 2003 when it became his full time occupation. After working for several other framers in Kent and Norfolk Wayne opened his first picture framing workshop in the North Norfolk Village of Melton Constable in 2006 and his second outlet at Creake Abbey, near Burnham Market in 2014.

In October 2016 the Melton Constable branch was merged with the Creake Abbey branch, where there was a gallery, showroom and workshop on site.

In 2019 Wayne finally went full circle and picked up his camera again to create beautifully crafted images of the Norfolk coastline which are mainly captured from his kayaking trips. These images can now be found in his new gallery at ARTSTAR at the Drove Orchards site, Thornham.

Wayne puts his keen eye for detail and getting a job done 100% right down to his years of working for BMW as a trim fitter. He has also been very lucky to have been trained by Lyn Hall of Fringe Arts. Lyn is very well known and respected within the framing industry.

Since opening in 2006 Wayne and Edith's customer base has grown rapidly, and as well as framing for the general public they have a huge amount of work from artists, photographers, galleries and interior designers amongst others.

After 9 years at Creake Abbey in the end of 2022 they were on the move again and after the successful opening of their contemporary art gallery ARTSTAR they moved all their framing operations to Drove Orchards, too.
